Call me William.
One of my favorite books is Moby Dick by Herman Melville. It’s an exciting novel, and despite the length, it’s a quick read. Moby Dick has many colorful characters, including Ishmael, Starbuck, Queequeg, and, of course, Captain Ahab. Captain Ahab led the crew of the Pequod as he pursued the white whale. His pride, ego, hubris, and lack of humility ultimately doomed the whaler and his crew.
Pride, ego, hubris, and lack of humility have sunk many careers. Checking your pride and ego at the door, serving others, and remaining humble will take you far. You are the captain of your ship and have the power to control your emotions. Navigate wisely.
When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom. ~ Proverbs 11:2
