My friends and I played on the same baseball team for several years in a row. The coaches did not draft us to the higher division in our second year of playing together. We were upset and frustrated. How did we react? We crushed the competition and won the league championship. Our team did so well that most of us made the all-star team.
It’s disappointing to fail to achieve your goals or make a team. However, don’t give up. If you aren’t on the varsity team, shine on the JV team and do it honorably and enthusiastically. Let others know you can do well regardless of the level of competition and that your coaches and teammates can always count on you to show up and perform well.
