Riptides

Growing up in Southern California, I spent several hours at the beach and often got caught in riptides. Riptides are scary, powerful, and life-threatening. It’s important not to panic or fight the tide. I stopped swimming and let the current take me out to sea before paddling perpendicular to the current to get out of the rip. Once out, I could swim safely to shore.

If you’re in a challenging situation, stop what you’re doing, relax, do not panic, and asses your options. Though your circumstance may appear dark, it’s probably not as bad as you think. You may have to take a few steps backward to move forward, but you can do it. Find your path and keep moving.

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. ~ Isaiah 41:10
