Do you want fries with that order?

I worked at McDonald’s for four days. I was a teenager, and it was my first job. I picked up trash in the lobby, and as you know, McDonald’s is always crowded at noon, which is when I took my first lunch break. The lobby overflowed with trash, and the store owner was upset. She ripped me up one side and down the other, letting me know we always put the customer first and only eat during slow periods. It was a lesson I never forgot. I left my lunch and picked up the trash.

I had a long time to think about my thrashing because I walked to work, and she was right. I carried her lesson through all my jobs, being hypersensitive to client needs and fully aware of my surroundings. I was good at reading the room.

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. ~ Colossians 3:23-24.
